Privacy policy

LessonRoad is a local-first driving instructor record app by NexLevel. It does not require an account or transmit learner records to a NexLevel server.

Your data and what you enter

You may enter learner names, lesson dates, route references, instructor notes, observed maneuvers, homework, next review dates and payment status. The app stores these records encrypted on your device using a device-bound key. Do not enter details you do not need for the teaching record.

Apple services

When you choose to buy Pro, Apple handles the transaction and supplies a verified entitlement. We do not receive card details. When you enable a reminder, the device schedules a local notification. A paired Apple Watch receives a small next-review snapshot through Apple's WatchConnectivity. There is no background location collection or mandatory cloud sync.

Export and sharing

You can create a PDF progress report or JSON backup and choose a destination through the system share sheet. Those files contain the records you select and may leave the device only through your deliberate action. Consider the recipient and storage destination before sharing. A report excludes internal payment status.

Control and deletion

Archive or permanently delete a learner from their record. Settings can erase all local records, prepare a backup, or import a backup. Deletion removes the local record, its reminders and all prepared in-app PDF reports and JSON backups. Importing a replacement book also clears prepared in-app exports. Copies you already saved or shared elsewhere must be managed at their destination. Because the encryption key is device-bound, a raw app container copied to another device is not a portable backup; use the explicit JSON export if portability is needed.

Analytics and contact

This release does not include an advertising SDK, cross-app tracking or developer-hosted analytics. A small allowlisted set of aggregate event counters stays on the device, contains no learner content or identifier, and is erased when you erase all local records. These counters are not sent to NexLevel automatically. Apple may provide aggregated App Store and purchase information under its own policies. For privacy questions, email [email protected].
