Effective August 12, 2026

Your meal plans stay under your control.

Short version: DishCadence is local-first, works without an account, contains no advertising or cross-app tracking, and does not sell personal data. Optional private iCloud sync starts only after you turn it on. AI-assisted drafting is not enabled in this release.

Information you enter and data collection

DishCadence may store meal and template names, dishes, preparation stages, dependencies, appliance assignments, durations, serving times, completion status, recovery changes, and meal history. You control this content and can edit, export, or delete it. Core planning data stays on device unless you explicitly enable private iCloud sync or choose an export destination.

Local storage

Core meal data is stored in the app's protected local container. The cooking scheduler runs deterministically on device. DishCadence does not require an account or network connection for its core planning, active-meal, history, import, or export workflows.

Optional private iCloud sync

If available in the distributed build, iCloud sync is off by default. Turning it on stores a convenience copy of your DishCadence library in the private CloudKit database associated with your Apple Account. The app does not use a public or shared CloudKit database. The synchronized library is not end-to-end encrypted by DishCadence; Apple processes it as part of iCloud under Apple's terms. Disabling sync stops future sync operations but does not automatically delete the existing private CloudKit copy.

Notifications, Live Activities, and Watch

DishCadence may request notification permission only after you start a meal or otherwise choose a feature that benefits from alerts. Stage notifications are scheduled on device. Live Activities display active meal timing through Apple system services. The Watch companion receives bounded meal status and stage actions through Apple's Watch Connectivity framework.

Purchases

Apple processes subscriptions and the Lifetime purchase. DishCadence reads verified product and entitlement status to unlock Pro, restore access, and respond to expiration or revocation. NexLevel does not receive your full payment-card details.

Import, export, and sharing

Import reads only the file you choose. Export and Share Sheet actions occur only when you initiate them. The destination you select handles exported data under its own privacy terms. Exported meal files deliberately exclude credentials and provider secrets.

AI and analytics

The Smart Draft concept is not enabled in this release and no meal-note content is sent to an AI provider. DishCadence does not include third-party advertising or cross-app tracking SDKs. If a future release introduces an optional managed service or analytics, this policy and the in-app disclosure will be updated before that feature is enabled.

Deletion

You can delete meals, templates, and history in the app. Removing the app deletes its local container, subject to device backups you control. If you enabled iCloud sync, removing the app alone may not remove the private CloudKit copy. In DishCadence Settings, first check the private iCloud copy and then choose Delete private iCloud copy. DishCadence conditionally replaces the exact reviewed CloudKit record with a minimal marker containing no meal content and refuses if a newer copy has appeared. The marker remains in your private CloudKit database, subject to Apple's CloudKit handling, so an older device cannot silently restore deleted data.

Security

DishCadence uses Apple data protection, size-bounded import and export, conflict-aware private sync, StoreKit verification, and fail-closed feature availability. No security measure is perfect; keep Apple software current and share exports only with trusted destinations.

Food safety

DishCadence coordinates timing and does not measure food temperature or determine doneness. Follow authoritative food-safety guidance and use an appropriate thermometer. Timing suggestions are not a substitute for checking safe internal temperatures.

Children and changes

DishCadence is a household productivity tool and is not directed to children under 13. Material policy changes will appear here with a revised effective date.
