FarrierForge: Hoof Records privacy policy

FarrierForge collects no data for the developer. There is no FarrierForge account, no advertising SDK, no third-party analytics SDK, and no developer-operated server. Your records never leave your device unless you choose to share or export them.

Data you enter

Owner and yard details, horse names and descriptions, individual hoof records, shoe types, sizes, modifications, materials, visit dates, amounts charged, notes, routes, next-due dates and any photographs you attach are stored locally on your iPhone or iPad. The developer does not receive this content and has no ability to read it.

No account and no cloud dependency

FarrierForge works fully offline. It does not require an account, an email address, or a network connection to record a visit, produce an owner summary, or export your data. There is no server-side copy of your records.

Purchases

Apple processes all App Store purchases. FarrierForge reads verified StoreKit entitlement status on your device to unlock Pro features. The developer never receives your payment-card details, billing address, or Apple Account credentials.

Notifications

Next-due service reminders are scheduled entirely on your device, and only after you enable reminders in Settings and grant notification permission. Reminders are derived from visit records already stored on the device. No reminder is sent from a server, and no push token is created or transmitted. Declining notification permission leaves every other feature working.

Camera and photos

FarrierForge uses the camera only at the moment you choose to photograph a hoof, and reads a photo from your library only when you explicitly pick one through Apple's photo picker. It never scans or indexes your photo library in the background. Photos are stored inside the app's own container and are removed when you delete the related visit or horse.

Apple Watch

If you use the Apple Watch companion, a small summary of your upcoming route is sent from your iPhone to your paired Watch, and actions you take on the Watch are queued and sent back to your iPhone. This exchange is device-to-device through Apple's Watch Connectivity framework. It does not pass through any developer server.

Exports

CSV exports and shared owner summaries are created only when you request them. Once you share an export, the destination you choose — Mail, Messages, Files, or another app — controls how it is handled from that point on.

Retention, export, and deletion

Your records remain on the device until you delete them. Archiving a horse keeps its history; deleting removes it. Settings contains an export of all records as CSV and a "Delete all data" action that permanently erases every owner, horse, visit and photo. Removing the app deletes its container and all remaining data.

Diagnostics

Apple may provide the developer with aggregated crash or performance diagnostics only if you separately opted to share them with app developers in iOS settings. FarrierForge embeds no analytics or crash-reporting SDK of its own.

Children

FarrierForge is a professional record-keeping tool for working farriers and is not directed to children under 13. It does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Scope of the records

FarrierForge records farriery work performed. It is a business and scheduling record, not a medical record, and it does not provide veterinary advice or diagnosis.
