FarrierForge: Hoof Records support
Email [email protected]. Please include your iOS version and what you were doing when the problem happened. Replies normally arrive within two business days.
Compatibility
FarrierForge requires iPhone or iPad running iOS or iPadOS 18.0 or later. The optional Apple Watch companion requires watchOS 11.0 or later and a paired iPhone. The app works fully offline; no account and no network connection are required.
Getting started
On first launch, enter a horse name and an owner or yard. That is enough to create a record. Tap Start visit, tap each hoof on the four-hoof map, and record the work: full set, reset, trim only or pulled, plus shoe type, size, modification and material where a shoe is left on. Set the amount and tap Complete. The service-cycle ring then counts down to the next due date.
Common questions
How do I change a horse's shoeing cycle?
Open the horse, tap the pencil in the top right, and adjust the cycle stepper. FarrierForge supports four to eight weeks, which covers normal farriery practice.
A visit will not complete
FarrierForge blocks completion only when something would make the record untrustworthy: a hoof marked as shod with no shoe size, a visit dated in the future, or an amount it cannot read. The reason is shown at the bottom of the visit screen, and your work stays saved as a draft while you fix it.
Why can I only keep five active horses?
The free tier keeps five active horses so you can evaluate the full workflow. A separate FarrierForge Pro in-app purchase removes the limit and adds owner-ready summaries, route planning, next-due reminders, presets and photo comparison.
Restoring a purchase
Open Settings → Subscription → Restore purchases. Make sure you are signed in with the same Apple Account used for the original purchase. If the status still shows Free afterwards, email support with the Apple Account email used to buy.
Managing or cancelling a subscription
Subscriptions are managed by Apple, not by FarrierForge. Open the iOS Settings app, tap your name, then Subscriptions. Cancelling stops future renewals; access continues until the end of the paid period. The Lifetime option never renews.
Reminders are not arriving
Check that reminders are switched on in Settings → Reminders, that iOS notification permission is granted for FarrierForge, and that the reminder time does not fall inside your quiet hours — a reminder scheduled inside quiet hours is moved to the end of the window rather than dropped. Reminders are scheduled only for horses that already have a recorded visit.
The Apple Watch shows old information
The Watch receives its route summary from your iPhone. Bring the two devices near each other and open FarrierForge on the iPhone. Actions you take on the Watch are queued and stay queued until the iPhone confirms it saved them, so nothing is lost while the devices are apart. The Sync page on the Watch shows how many actions are still waiting.
Exporting your data
Open Settings → Your data → Export all records (CSV). The export contains every owner, horse, visit, work description and amount, and can be opened in any spreadsheet application. Individual owner summaries can be shared from a horse's detail screen.
Deleting your data
Open Settings → Your data → Delete all data. This permanently erases every owner, horse, visit and photo on the device and cannot be undone, so export first if you want a copy. Deleting the app from your device also removes all of its data. Because FarrierForge stores nothing on a server, there is no separate account deletion request to make.
Scope
FarrierForge records farriery work performed. It is a business and scheduling record. It does not provide veterinary advice, diagnosis, or treatment recommendations.
Privacy
FarrierForge collects no data for the developer. Full details are in the FarrierForge privacy policy.
