PawHandoff starts locally on your device. Cloud sharing, purchases, notifications, and optional export videos are used only when you choose the related feature.
Information we collect and process
PawHandoff may store pet names, species, photos, care notes, routines, care check-ins, caregiver display names, sitter labels, and household settings. This content is local by default.
If you enable household sync, PawHandoff also processes your email address, display name, account identifier, household membership, and shared pet-care content through Supabase. Passwords are handled by Supabase Auth and are not stored in PawHandoff app data.
If you explicitly enable Care Updates while signed in, PawHandoff sends an installation identifier, Apple push-notification token, and delivery environment to Supabase. These values are used only for best-effort household care updates and are disabled when you turn the feature off, sign out, or Apple reports that the token is invalid. A care update may include a caregiver display name, pet name, task label, and whether a check-in was completed or removed. It does not include pet notes, email addresses, passwords, or advertising content.
Purchases and diagnostics
Apple processes App Store payments. RevenueCat may process product identifiers, transaction and entitlement status, anonymous or signed-in app identifiers, and purchase diagnostics. PawHandoff does not receive full payment-card details.
Apple may provide aggregated App Store and opt-in diagnostic information under the device owner’s Apple privacy settings. Pet notes, photos, email addresses, passwords, and exported history are not intentionally added to diagnostic metadata.
How information is used
- Provide local and shared pet-care tracking.
- Synchronize household check-ins and routines.
- Deliver reminders and care updates you enable.
- Verify paid Household access.
- Secure expiring caregiver and sitter access.
- Troubleshoot failures and respond to support requests.
PawHandoff does not sell your pet-care content or use it to target advertisements. It requests nonpersonalized advertising and does not request Apple's tracking permission or intentionally link your data across other companies' apps and websites.
Optional advertising for a local CSV
In the advertising-enabled update, a local owner can choose an optional Google AdMob rewarded video to prepare one exact care-history CSV. No ad loads when you launch the app, complete care, inspect history, use reminders, or choose free text sharing. The app checks advertising consent through Google’s User Messaging Platform before requesting a video. A completed video grants only that frozen local export, not paid Household, invitations, sitter access, additional pets, medication schedules, or cloud sync. Paid Household exports remain direct.
Google may process your IP address (including approximate location inferred from it), app- or device-bounded identifiers, viewed ads, video and ad interactions, and technical crash, performance and diagnostic data for advertising, measurement, fraud prevention and service operation. Nonpersonalized advertising can still process these technical data. PawHandoff disables publisher first-party identifiers and does not send pet names, care notes, photos, caregivers, email addresses, passwords, or CSV contents to AdMob. It does not request precise location for ads.
Use Advertising privacy choices in Household or the export sheet to revisit choices where required. The form depends on your region and available network. An unavailable or unfinished video does not grant export access and does not block local care or free text sharing. Read Google’s privacy policy and how Google uses information from partner apps.
Sharing and retention
Household content is visible to accepted members. Sitter links reveal only the selected pets, instructions, and check-in actions, and expire automatically. Local data remains until deleted in PawHandoff or the app is removed. Synced data remains while the account is active. Prepared CSV files and exact-content export permissions are stored privately on this device. Matching access can work offline and remains until you clear prepared export access or erase local data. Clearing access does not remove care records, purchases, or copies you have already shared. Google retains advertising data under its own policies.
Your controls
Use Household > Your data > Delete account and data to request cloud-account deletion and erase local data. Signed-in deletion must be confirmed by the service before local data is removed. You can disable local reminders in PawHandoff or Settings, and disable shared Care Updates in Household > Cloud Sync.
Local owners can share history as free text without an account, video or payment. Use the export sheet’s Clear prepared export access control to remove its permissions and app-owned CSV files.
Security and pet health
PawHandoff uses HTTPS, row-level access rules, hashed invite and sitter tokens, and idempotent care events. No system is completely secure. PawHandoff is a reminder and activity log, not veterinary advice, and does not calculate medication doses.
