Artwork records stay on your device

Artwork identities, photographs, locations, custodians, condition observations, studio records and private notes are saved in the app’s local storage. ArtTransit does not upload this ledger to a NexLevel account or remote AI service. Your device’s operating-system backup settings may include app data in Apple backups. There is no ArtTransit cloud-sync account.

Photographs and permissions

You choose the photographs to import. Camera access is requested when you choose Take photograph and is used for still photographs in ArtTransit. If camera access is unavailable, you can choose a library photograph instead. The app creates a resized JPEG copy and removes embedded location metadata from that copy. Your library original is unchanged. An image can still visibly contain names, addresses or other sensitive details; inspect it before sharing. Notification permission is used only for return reminders you enable. Lock-screen reminder text is generic.

Exports, backups and Watch sharing

You decide where to send PDFs and backup files through the system share sheet. A PDF excludes the separate private-notes field unless explicitly included; other text and images you entered may contain sensitive information. Full backups include private notes and photos. Store them securely. Recipients and their storage services control copies you send; deleting a local record cannot recall those copies.

Watch sharing is off by default. If enabled, up to 12 artwork titles, identifiers, locations, statuses, return dates and small thumbnails are transferred through Apple WatchConnectivity to your paired Watch. Private notes are excluded. Disable sharing to send an empty summary; an offline Watch retains its last saved summary until it reconnects.

Purchases and optional advertising

Apple handles App Store payments. ArtTransit uses StoreKit transaction and entitlement information to determine Pro access and restore purchases. We do not receive your card details.

Optional rewarded ads use Google AdMob. Google may process IP-derived approximate location, device or app identifiers, ad interactions, diagnostic and performance data for advertising, measurement, fraud prevention and service operation. Consent availability and choices are managed through Google’s User Messaging Platform. No artwork titles, photographs, notes or custody records are supplied by ArtTransit to ad requests. Ads are requested only when you choose the optional ad flow and the consent system permits requests. Where required, use “Ad privacy choices” in Settings to revisit your decision. Basic access to existing records and exports does not require watching an ad. Reward receipts and extra-slot counts are saved on this device and excluded from portable artwork backups. Pro users are not offered ads.

Retention and deletion

Use Delete artwork to remove its local record, dossiers, framing records, linked edition allocations and placement sheets containing it. Photos still referenced by remaining records are kept. Uninstalling the app removes its on-device container; exports, recipients’ copies, paired-device summaries and operating-system backups may persist separately. Manage those copies with the relevant recipient or provider.

Support and website data

If you email us, we receive the address, message and attachments you choose to send. We use them to respond and resolve the request, and retain them only as needed for that purpose or applicable obligations. Do not send confidential artwork records unless necessary. This site uses local browser storage for your light/dark preference. Its page policy blocks analytics scripts and browser telemetry connections; the site does not use advertising tags. Hosting and security providers may process ordinary request logs, including IP address, for delivery and protection.

Your choices and changes

You can edit, export or delete local records, disable notifications or Watch sharing, and decline optional ads. Privacy requests concerning our support correspondence can be sent to the contact above; requests about Apple or Google data can also be directed to those providers. ArtTransit is intended for adult professional and personal collection work, not children. We will update this page when practices change and show a new effective date.
