Include your app version, device model, iOS or watchOS version and what happened. Redact private details from screenshots. Never send payment-card details or Apple account passwords.
Do I need an ArtTransit account?
No. ArtTransit has no user login or registration. Your artwork ledger and photographs are stored locally on your device, and core record work is available offline. Purchases and restoration of Pro access use your Apple account through the App Store. Optional rewarded ads require a network connection; see the privacy policy for advertising data practices.
Start an artwork record
Choose Register artwork, give the work a unique identifier and title, and add known identity and custody details. Leave unknown dimensions blank. Record a condition observation before documenting a handover.
Correct a record or replace a photograph
Open Record options to correct identity details or update the catalog photograph. Explain the change and identify the observer or source. Earlier observations and catalog photographs remain in the history. A catalog photograph change does not replace a condition observation.
Find a previously issued dossier
Open the artwork and choose Issued dossiers. Select Prepare saved revision, then Share saved revision. This uses the saved snapshot, even if the live artwork has changed. Review the document before sending it.
Back up or move your collection
Use Settings → Backup & restore. Keep the exported backup somewhere secure: it contains the full ledger and photos, including private notes. Restore replaces the current local ledger after confirmation; export a current backup first. Rewarded slots stay on the device and are not part of the backup. Restore purchases restores eligible Pro access, not your artwork records. Export a backup before deleting the app or moving to another device; signing into an Apple account alone does not restore the local ledger.
Purchases, Free limits and rewarded slots
Free includes 10 artworks and continued access to saved records and basic exports. Optional completed rewarded ads can add a slot on the current device. Pro offers unlimited artwork capacity. Use Restore purchases with the same Apple account to check Pro access. Apple manages subscription cancellation and billing. Actual prices and eligible offers appear in the app’s App Store purchase sheet.
Return reminders or Watch updates are missing
Check notification permission, the app’s reminder setting and quiet hours. Watch sharing must be enabled on iPhone, and the devices must reconnect to refresh the saved summary. The Watch is a glance and navigation companion; review and change custody details on the full record.
What does a dossier prove?
It preserves user-supplied observations and a record revision. ArtTransit does not authenticate artwork, certify value, provide conservation advice or guarantee structural installation safety.
